Bold Dreams for Our Future: a journey for courageous leaders
New Constellations exists to help people imagine and create futures in which humanity and the planet flourish together. We are hosting a year-long journey over 2022 for UK-based emerging and established leaders, who are ready to explore what true transformation will take.
Please note applications are now closed, but we are very grateful to the many exceptional applicants who wanted to be part of this and to all those who helped spread the word. For updates on future opportunities, please sign up to our newsletter.
We are living through an era of extraordinary change and complexity which asks huge questions about what will become of us. We know transformation is needed, but will not be enabled by the existing structures alone, many of which feel dysfunctional and obsolete.
Following our call-out for courageous leaders innovating in service of people and communities across the UK, we are delighted to welcome Abdi Hassan, Asif Afridi, Chrisann Jarrett, Clare Reddington, Farah Elahi, Fiona Hegarty, Ivor Williams, Jane Davidson, Jules Peck, Kayla-Megan Burns, Lou Byng, Mahara Haque, Noreen Blanluet, Peter Macfadyen, Stephanie Antonian, Sughra Ahmed and Tom Hartley on this journey.
The process will explore what it will take to meet the challenges of these times – to transform ourselves, our communities and our systems in alignment with our boldest visions for the future. The experiential process is bringing together a diverse group from many walks of life, sectors and fields of practice across the UK to deeply connect with and learn from each other, cross-pollinate ideas and experiences, and find common ground and common purpose. We will explore how we can support and inspire each other to raise our collective gaze and ambition, and hasten our passage towards the future we long for.
Held across the year in rhythm with the seasons, through a combination of in-person retreats and online/phone sessions, this will be a nourishing, challenging and invigorating personal and relational journey, in service of the communities we love and our collective future.
It was magical, beautifully facilitated and really experiential in a way I hadn’t expected. It worked with people’s hearts almost more than their brains. It felt playful and poetic and was such a beautiful example of what happens when you create a process that speaks to the imagination. It felt like an adventure, change needs to feel like that.

Ideas aren’t the issue, we have loads of them. The issue is that people need to be empowered to believe they can make a change – this process did that.

Covid-19 and our collective wellbeing
We are committed to running any in-person gatherings in the safest way possible for all attending, and will conduct full risk assessments before each gathering to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing.
Requirements and mitigations will be in place to ensure we are creating a safe environment for everyone with regards to Covid-19, including testing for all participants and staff, ventilation and sanitising etc. Full details will be shared with participants once they are selected.
Should government guidelines at the time prevent in-person gatherings, sessions intended to be held in person will be moved online on the same dates/schedule.
About New Constellations
New Constellations is a small experimental not-for-profit organisation. We exist to help people imagine and create better futures; futures in which humanity and the planet can flourish together.
We are a small team of four people with a background in running organisations with a social purpose. We have seen how transformation happens when powerful ideas, visceral experiences of connection and concrete opportunities to make change are combined, so we created New Constellations to hold and grow space for people to imagine and shape better futures, and to find and illuminate new constellations of hope and possibility we can orient our lives towards as we explore what true transformation will take.
